- Base coat entire piece of
mature bisque with CO105 Raven Black.
After allowing ample drying time, check back to be sure all
exposed bisque has been covered.
- *Wet brush (WB) all but hair,
belly and spines with CO139 Purple Rain.
**Dry brush (DB) the same areas with CO138 Canyon Iris to
highlight.
- WB Belly, lower half of wing,
spines and beak with CO131 Mystic Teal.
DB the same areas with CO123 Limelight to highlight.
WB the inner portion of the belly for more intense color.
- WB hair, outline on wings,
eyebrows and around the eyes with CO143 Salem Brick.
DB the same areas, in layers with the following colors:
(listed in order of use) CO113 Wild Salmon, CO121 Yellow Submarine,
and a random highlight of CO115 Geranium Red.
- Block paint the eyes CO101
Snowcap White. Outer
portion of iris is CO131 Mystic Teal; inner portion of iris is CO123
Limelight. The pupil is
CO105 Raven Black with a CO101 Snowcap White highlight.
The claws are CO105 Raven Black.
- At this point a coat of Matte spray may be applied (this
step is optional as the paint is self sealing). Brushon
Glaze Coat is applied to the belly, claws, eyes and
spines.
*Wet
brushing is done by working the color into, but not out of your brush.
Do this on a paper bag or coffee filter for best results.
You will need to get rid of some
of the liquid in the brush. Apply
the color to the surface, leaving the darker color below visible.
**Dry brushing is done by working all of the liquid out of your brush, using the same method mentioned
above. |
