Step 1 Cast and clean the greenware.
Step 2 Roll dinnerware safe clear glaze on the inside.
Step 3 Fire to cone 04.
Step 4 Paint the outside of the entire piece Raven Black acrylic stain. (I use a Golden Taklon Glaze/Wash Brush on smooth surfaces for a more even finish.)
Step 5
Spray seal by applying 2 light applications of CTM-1 Flat Matte.
Step 6 Allow to dry thoroughly. (If not dry, the rub-on will lift the paint.)
Step 7 Cut around rub-on leaving 1/'8" to edge and then remove backing sheet.
Step 8 Position the rub-on onto the surface.
Step 9 Rub the design with the enclosed stick.
Step 10 Gently pull off the plastic sheet to reveal the design. This process requires patience. If you start lifting it and the design is coming up with the plastic, rub that area again until that part of the design remains on the cup. Slowly work from one edge until the entire design is on the cup free of the plastic.
Step 11
Spray seal again by applying 2 light applications of CTM-1 Flat Matte.
